Black Urn - Moraine Carvings

700.00

This Urn was part of an exhibition of contemporary funerary objects from the fall of 2018 entitled Shelter For What Remains.

The form was thrown by my collaborator Kate Husted and the carvings were done by me. These particular carvings reference The Southern Alberta Landscape and follow the major moraine ridges left by the glacier as it passed through the Calgary - Lethbridge corridor. The urn itself is made up of two separate halves with a snug fitting gallery closure. Silicone or wax can be added for permanence. The top of this urn features a separate water tight vase for flowers.

This specific piece is reserved for exhibition, however commissions featuring the shown Moraine pattern or custom carvings are welcome.
